South Shore Photos - Tim Vermande

#2000-2004

New diesels, able to handle South Shore's increasing coal traffic, arrived in 1981. They were first painted in a simplified Chessie scheme--#2000, towing a dead Pullman out of South Bend, September 1981.
When Indiana's NICTD purchased the line, a new freight operator, Anacostia & Pacific, used a variation of South Shore's classic orange scheme--#2000 at Saugany Lake, February 1990.
#2000 at Gary, August 1989.
#2001, Bailly.
#2001, Burns Harbor.
#2002, Ogden Dunes, February 2000.
#2004, Michigan City, June 2006.
#2004, Burnham Yard.
