Erie-Lackawanna Photos - Tim Vermande


EL was the result of a merger of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western ("Lackawanna") and Erie Railroads. It ran from New Jersey to Chicago. Most of its business was east of Marion OH, and those were the only lines retained when it was folded into Conrail (several west of that point were operated with more or less success by short lines such as Erie Western or Spencerville & Elgin). #818, Griffith IN, May 1975.
