Hopin to get a 3 day weekend this weekend.  Would like to get the TT done and installed, and work done on Summit Curve.  Might even get to run a train.

I can't believe it, I' actually getting a three day weekend!  Yesterday I cleaned off the back porch and reorganized so that I got room to work on track sections and largish structures.  Also finished up the front rockwork and rebuilt and repainted the fountain.  Its getting really close to the point where I can actually work on the RR its self.

I managed to salvage a pair of 8 ft 8x8 s from the cribbing pile to saw up and use for structure bases.  I want to get a tipple and an enginehouse done this year as a minimum.  Got the turntable pit painted yesterday, just need to do a little tinkering on the bridge to get it happening.

I think that two 8x8s staked atop each other will be a good basis for the coal bunker at the tippleover the tracks, then use a bit of 6x6 or 4x4 angling down to the mine portal for a conveyor housing.  Since I did away with the Port Lavender line in the simplification process, I beleive I got a space in Cassville for a transloader/prep plant over what was originally the interchange track.

Once again using the 8x8, I can build just the dumping facilities, that elevate the coal from the narrow gauge and transfer it off the layout.  Then hoppers can get switched in and out from under it.

I've reflected a bit, and think I'll remove the tener lettering on all the locomotives.  I'll treat Western Consolidated as a holding company that owns the standard gauge West Virgina & Kentucky and the narrow gauge Tug Fork & Eastern, I just won't specify exactly what that gauge is.  I'll just treat the 7/8 layout and the On30 one as two seperate divisions of the same line.  7/8 will be the Cassville Division(Southern), and the On30 will be the Anniebird Division (Northern) which are connected by a theoretical Port Lavender (Central) Division.

I can still carry on the concept that each line was built independantly then connected by Western Consolidated by creating the Port Lavender Terminal Company.  Will give me a chance to sneak in an oddball loco or piece of rolling stock that ya wouldn't expect on either of the RRs, like a 2-6-6-2T+T.
