I’ve decided on a name for the barge loadout point, Port Lavnder.  The job that switches the hoppers between Cassville and Port Lavender can be known as the Port Lavender Shifter.  Good job for No5or No6.

Start having all trains come into CassvilleYardand the hoppers get switched out from there.  Might need to add an additional storage track at Cassville.  Since the Cabin Track was gonna be off the ply wood anyways it would be simple to add another turnout for an additional track.

‘Sposed to rain on Friday, need to get the chemical track  installed.  From there I’d like to get an operational  turtable built over the weekend. Need to get to Lowes to get the Styrofoam for the pit.  Need to get an accurate measurement of No9’s wheelbase but there’s really not a reason to turn a Shay unless I just want too.

From the front brake beam of the front truck to the rearbeam of the rear truck is exactly 36”.  No9 will just fit on the Turntable I already have started, So I should be able to finish it up over this weekend and get it operational.

Thinking on starting a rulebook for operations

After getting the grass cut I believe I will start working on the turntabelthe priority product for the day.  Almost certain I have all the necessary supplies on hand, and it should go together rather quickly.  Get the bridge finished so that I can sand prime and paint it, and it can be drying while I mow grass.  It may not be the best detailed model but it should be sturdy an functional.

Not a bad day today a’tall!  Tinkered on No8 and re installed her rear truck. Fine tuned a a turnout and got rid of a hump in the yard.  Installed the logging interchange as well.

The new NiMHs cme in today,so I stuck them on the charger and put battery boxes on board No8.  May make her a passenger engine only if she stays contrary and let no7 handle the freight duties.  Might run No9 a bit after dinner.

I’m happy to report that the conversion to NiMH batteries seemed to fix No8’s control problems.  Trailing truck still wants to be a pain however.
