WNYRHS WINTER TRAIN SHOW 2009

18th Annual WNYRHS Winter
Train & Toy Show 2009 Review

The weekend of February 21st and 22nd, 2009 was a great weekend for our 18th Annual Winter Train and Toy Show! Over 4800 people came through the doors of the Erie County AgriCenter Building to enjoy the sights and sounds of Prototype and Model Railroading. With over 300 tables set up, there was plenty of things to see and do for the entire family. Of course we had had four huge modular layouts featuring everything from "N" Scale all the way up to some very impressive "G" Gauge main lines. Hundreds of tables of model railroading rolling stock, accessories, electronics and books on how to do it made it hard to decide what to buy! Most of our regular vendors were back for a chance to sell their inventory and some of our new dealers had a very successful weekend. Our Chinese Auction was a big success and sales at the Society Table were brisk. The Buffalo Model Boat Club brought a taste of spring and things to come with their impressive display and The New York and Lake Erie Railroad sent their represenatives to inform the public of their latest trips. With the promise of High Speed Rail coming to Western New York the Empire State Passenger Association was busy answering questions all day long. The Central Terminal Restoration Corporation shared their progress and future events with a great display of articles and photos of the terminal.

We all had a chance to catch up with old friends and make many new ones. If you were not able to attend this show you do not have long to wait for our 28th Annual Greater Buffalo Show in November. Hope you enjoy some of the shots below of the show provided by Society member Robert Snyder. For those of you that came to this show, we hope you enjoyed yourself and that we will see you again!
