Train & Toy Show 2016 Review

The WNYRHS caught a break in the weather this show with the temperature up to 54' by noon on Saturday! The previous weekend featured 11" of snow and sub zero wind chills! Our "Conductors" were taking tickets as fast as they could all day. Other Society members manned our tables of full of information and answering questions. This show we had a special feature for visitors to play our scavenger hunt with a chance to win 4 tickets on Amtrak to any destination in New York State, courtesy of Amtrak, or a family 4 pass for the Day Out With Thomas©, or a ride on the Arcade & Attica Railroad. |  "Society tables were full of information. ©2016 smph50 - Click to Enlarge") |
| This year we had four great layouts provided by the "Flower City TinPlate Trackers" "O" scale layout from Rochester. The "Western NY Garden Railway Society" had their wonderful "G" guage layout with lot of Thomas© to keep the little ones amused. The "Gowanda & Buffalo Model Railroad Club" was adding a huge new addition to their "N" scale layout and the "Niagara Orleans Model Engineer's" entertained everyone with their great "HO" scale layout! In the "Expo Building" the kids enjoyed the "Thomas & Friends"© play area and "Chuckles the Balloon Clown." Members from the "Steel Plant Museum," "Empire State Passenger Association," "Niagara Frontier Chapter" of the NRHS, "Buffalo Model Boat Club," and the "Niagara Frontier Live Steamers" and many other groups were all ready to show off their displays and answer questions. We hope you enjoyed yourself and we hope we will see you on November 19th or 20th, 2016 for our huge Greater Buffalo Show! |

| Congratulations to the three winners of our special Amtrak Ticket Give-Away at the Train Show. The first prize of 4 round trip tickets to any destination in New York State was won by Karen S. of Buffalo. The 4 tickets for a Day Out With Thomas© were won by Diane C. of Niagara Falls and the 4 tickets on the Arcade & Attica Steam train were won by Eric M. of Warren Pennsylvania. We want to thank the nearly 500 families that completed the Scavenger Hunt at the train show and submitted their entries into the drawing. We hope you all had a great time at the show. |
