October 2002 Update

Saturday October 12th was a very busy day for us. Dave Burla let us know that the crane would be available during the middle of the week. They were planning on plucking more target signals from the Mococo line, and could swing by Oakland on their way back if we were ready to put the roof hatches back. We were close enough, so we said yes.

During the last 2 weeks, Don applied the weather strip on the roof. Jon, Don and Phil reinstalled the cooling fans on the hatches, and Dan worked on getting the radiator shutter areas repainted. All this needed to be done before the crane showed up.

On Saturday the 12th, the roof hatches were replaced...

On Oct. 12th, Phil Copple and Don McPherson make last minute
preparations just before the crane showed up to replace the hatches.

Don sets in the first few bolts. Luckily everything lined up without to much "encouragement".
Over the next 2 weeks we got the water lines reconnected, the electrical rewired and repainted the air cleaner parts. We made an attempt to fire her up on 10/26, but the batteries were too weak. Hopefully next week...
