This section includes quick answers to some of the more common questions we receive from our members.
NOTE :
The number one requirement of being hosted at TrainWeb.org is that your website must be related to rail.
If you have a few web pages at your website that are not directly related to rail, that does not give us a problem.
The second requirement is that your site must be non-commercial. That is, the purpose of your website can
not be to sell products or services for a profit. Membership in affilliate programs like Amazon.com is not a problem.
Third, your website must not be just a doorway to another website that you have hosted elsewhere, nor can it be used
as a mirror or a backup of a website you have hosted elsewhere.
To sign up for a new account :
Just email us with the following details about your proposed website:
- Site Name :
(15 characters maximum, all lowercase, no special characters, no spaces, and must not start with a digit.)
The Site Name will be appended at the end of www.trainweb.org/ to form your web address.
For example, if your requested Site Name is myrail, your web address will be www.trainweb.org/myrail.
Check Members A-Z Index to make sure that your desired Site Name is still available.
- Site Title :
(50 characters maximum: the shorter, the better!)
- Site Description :
(80 characters maximum, not 80 words!)
- Site Category :
Visit the members directory to select a category.
- Your Name :
Provide us with your full name to be used as the authorized point of contact.
- Your Email Address :
Provide us with just one e-mail address to be used as the authorized point of contact.
