TOURS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER, EMERGENCIES, OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL.

 

All participants joining the facility tours should be aware that we will be entering an industrial environment. This requires certain preparations AND appropriate dress. Long pants and a full shirt are expected. No open toe shoes. We recommend that you leave your brand new clothes back at the hotel. Wear something you don't mind getting dirty! Additionally, members should equip themselves with the following: OSHA approved Hardhat (bump caps do not meet this requirement), OSHA approved Safety Glasses, Work gloves, Work Boots, Insect Repellant, OSHA approved hearing protection, and a flashlight.  Additionally, the Society recommends that you bring rain gear. We'd hate for you to miss out on something really neat just because you don't want to get wet! The consequences of not bringing the listed gear is that you may not be able to tour a facility. If we take a professional approach to entering a professional environment, we'll probably get invited back!!! If anyone is wondering where you can get OSHA approved gear, just go to Lowes or Home Depot. The price is good and you'll be able to use it for many conventions to come! Additionally, please make us aware of any medical conditions or special needs that we need to allow for during a facility tour.
