This car was built as a 44 seat coach for the Southern Pacific in 1954. Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and numbered 4433, the car operated for several years as a coach having been converted to HEP from Steam Heat in January 1981 and renumbered 4009. The car was converted into a Baggage/Mail car in January 2001 with the interior gutted and the windows plated over with a single sliding door installed in the center of the car on each side.
