This car was originally built for the Santa Fe Railway as a high-level buffet-lounge car. Amtrak aquired the car in 1971. Today, this series of cars (Amtrak owns 5) have been completely refurbished and are currently used exclusively on Amtrak's Coast Starlight train between Los Angeles and Seattle as a lounge for sleeping car passengers. The car features lounge seating, couches, a theater, and dining tables inside. |
