Milwaukee Road 261 was restored to service in 1993 by North Star Rail, Inc., a dedicated of group of rail enthusiasts, after being retired since 1954. 261 was on display at the National Transportation Museum in Green Bay, WI, from 1958 until 1992. 261 makes a number of revenue runs each year and is stored in Minneapolis, MN.
