Trains - Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad operates excursion trains on 67 miles of narrow gauge trackage from Chama, NM and Antonito, Colorado. Built in 1880's by the Rio Grand RR to served the silver mining district of the San Juan mountains in southwestern Colorado;  The line was abandoned in 1969 and the states of Colorado and New Mexico acquired the line that survives today.

GE 44 tonner
Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad 19 at Antonito, CO, 5/07/08.  This locomotive is used for yard service.

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad 488 at Antonito, CO, 5/07/08. This locomotive is one of four operational steam locomotives on the line.
