Iowa, Chicago & Eastern (ICE) took over the IMRL in July of
2002. The first thing ICE did was retire most of the vintage
locomotive fleet of IMRL; replacing it with DM&E power and
leasing 50+ ex-BN SD40's from FURX (since returned to FURX).
CP Rail's purchase of ICE was finalized on Oct 30, 2008.
