A short portion of the Swayne Lumber Co right of way near the Oroville Dam has been cleared as a multipurpose trail.
This trail starts at the lower dam overlook on Oro Dam Blvd, photo 1. Photo 2 looks back across towards the dam. In the
trees on the far side of the parking lot may be a few more feet of right of way. Image 3 is part way up the trail at an
intersection with another trail. Photo 4 looks back towards the dam from this same spot.
5. 6. 7. 8.
Photo 5 picks up where photo 3 left off heading towards town. At location 6, the right of way leaves the trail and heads
through the brush. Image 7 looks back from this spot through a shallow cut. 8 continues on.
9. 10. 11. 12. 13.
At image 9, the penstock comes into view. 10 and 11 are taken from atop the penstock with 10 looking towards town.
At this point the right of way becomes impassable. 11 looks back toward the dam. 12 and 13 are maps of this section.
