The HO Model Engineers Society (HOMES club) is a model railway club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1948, HOMES is dedicated to prototype modelling of the Hamilton railway scene in the mid-1950s.
At the western tip of Lake Ontario, Hamilton is Canada's Steel City, home of Dominion Foundries and Steel (Dofasco, now Arcelor-Mittal) and the Steel Company of Canada (Stelco) as well as many other manufacturing and steel-related businesses.
Hamilton is also a St Lawrence Seaway port for both lakers and ocean-going ships.
Not surprisingly, this industrial city was a busy railway centre, served by the Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, and the hometown Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo Railways (the last-named connecting to the New York Central). Bayview Junction, the rail entrance to Hamilton, is one of the most famous railfan locations in Canada.
