Mix up with Number 22

Parkdale Bill

I well remember the 3101 with smoke deflectors. I remember being called off the spare board to cover the 4.00 pm switchtender's position at the Coach Yard. One of the duties was to call the Scott Street tower when the road power was ready to come off the shop track and move to Union Station and onto their train. I got mixed up between the power for First and Second 22 and the wrong engine got backed onto the wrong train. One of the engines was either 3100 or 3101. The error wasn't discovered until the conductor on First 22 delivered the orders to the head end. Needless to say the yardmaster wasn't happy. Likely the morning reports showed the delay as waiting wheelchair passenger from Royal York Hotel or held at the Don or Leaside waiting on VIP arriving by taxi.
