Tembec shut down the mill July 31, 2006. It was closed permanently December 5, 2006.
Note: A chemical leak on the property was discovered in 2008
and in October 2012 it still existed, being reported as an environmental disaster.

Tembec announced March 29, 2011 sale ($16.5M) of their hydro-electric generating (7.4 megawatts) assets in
Smooth Rock Falls to Gemini-SRF Power Corp.
