Steam has ended earlier in the year on the CPR and CNR as well as just about everywhere else in Canada.
The lone holdout is the Sydney & Louisburg in Cape Breton with an all-steam roster.
It too will soon secumb to dieselization leaving only a few small non-common carriers.

At the time CPR rented TH&B steam engines on weekends
only between Hamilton and Lambton.

John D. Mc.Arthur was a major railway construction contractor for GTP and CPR in Western Canada.
