  • Designated a heritage railway station by theHistoric Sites and Monuments Board of Canada 06/93
  • Formerly named "BERLIN" after Berlin in Germany name changed in 1916 to Kitchener after one of England's famous Generals
  • Single storey brick built by GTR in 1897 with tower which is since dismantled
  • Train order office closed 05 Dec 1988. Presently used by VIA RAIL and GO
  • The first GTR station was located north of today's Weber Street crossing
  • VIA RAIL completed a $235000 rehabilitation program with a ribbon cutting ceremony 18 June 1984
