I have for sale a set of four steam-engine fireman's tools which includes a couple of long clinker-breakers, one with a heart-shaped head and the other with a hatchet-shaped end, plus a cinder rake and a clawed device for picking up large pieces of clinker. They are in good ex-loco condition. I can e-mail photographs if required.
I'd be grateful for offers, but the buyer would need to collect as two of the tools are about 8 feet long. With care, they will fit into a medium hatchback car.
Located South Yorkshire.
Thanks,

Frank

Hello All,
We are back again! The fifth tranche of the Wadebridge auction was launched this afternoon on http://www.btinternet.com/~Marshgate/auction/auction5.html.
As well as a good selection of books on railways in general there are sections containing more technical books (operating and signalling), trams and traction engines and a large selection of London Underground books.
In the tranches yet to come will be books specific to one railway, more general railway books, some albums and a quantity of old magazines.
I hope you will find something(s) that take your fancy.
With best regards,

Peter ...

Hello everyone
As I am now concentrating more on areas of collecting other than worksplates, I now have available the following LNER fully engraved oval worksplate which I am offering for exchange;
"London North Eastern Railway Co. No.1656 Doncaster 1926" "As carried by the LNER J50/3 0-6-0T 1037 that emerged from works in November 1926. It became LNER 8959 from January 1946; BR 68959 from October 1949. A Gresley designed robust and powerful class used for freight and heavy shunting duties. Latterley a Hammerton Street, Ardesley, West Auckland, Wakefiled and Low Moor engine; it was withdrawn in August 1961 and cut up in Doncaster Works immediately." There were in total, 38 J50/3s. Face is is polished but rim and back are entirely ex loco, the back being stamped 1037 and 8959.
I am looking for FULLY FLANGED NEAR MINT TOTEMS in exchange (must have no crease or face repairs, have excellent colour and shine and have no visible surface scratching though I would expect the usual corrosion and pitting on the back). I would be interested to hear of anything you might have to offer, especially from ER, ScR, LMR & WR (SR not wanted UNLESS RARE and most NER will be worth more than the worksplate I imagine).
My wants list includes the following though as I said, do let me know of any you might wish to offer in exchange.
ANY BLACK AND WHITE
SETTLE, CARLISLE & ANY OTHER S&C
TEBAY
LEICESTER CENTRAL, LEICESTER LONDON ROAD, OAKHAM, BARROW ON SOAR, MELTON MOWBRAY & ANY OTHER LEICESTERSHIRE
TORPHINS AND ANY OTHER BALLATER BRANCH
HIGHLAND LINE STATIONS
DERSINGHAM AND ANY OTHER ER
Thanks for looking and I look forward to hearing from you.
