My lunch was so good, I asked George for a second plate.
   
The rail route from Auburn to Colfax has numerous short tunnels.  Notice the tunnel portal architecture.  Some of them sport a date above the keystone.
   

   

   
The Silver Solarium has a window at the rounded end which allows for some great photos.  This date is not totally readable, but one can make out 190?.
   
The Silver Solarium dome has window blinds which cuve with the window.  It was a very hot day.
   
It appears that there was at least ONE happy old railfan.
   
I noticed this old green passenger car near the Colfax Depot.
   
At this point on the rails, the host railroad, Union Pacific had a tie renewall project happening.
