After my 1/2 hour lunch break, I went
back to checking out the track maintenance project.
I got to know Jerry Larsen and his wife Virginia on this trip.
Jerry was breaking in his new camera. My camera is just plain
broken, shutting off for no reason. It is the on/off switch and
the manufacturer dosen't want to fix it. I have missed a number
of nice shots due to this problem.
The railroad is built on the slope of the foothills with occasional
views of the American River. Some years ago, there was a plan to
build
a dam on the American River.
