History:
Railroad incorporated in 1892 as Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railway and opened the following year.
Electric locomotives replaced steam in 1913.
Passenger service discontinued in 1955.
Electric operation continued until 1967.
BAP property transferred to state of Montana in 1985 and operated by Rarus effective May 1.
Railroad property purchased by Rarus from state of Montana in 1990.
Acquired by Patriot Rail in April 2007, and subsequently renamed Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railway.
