Hagerstown Roundhouse Virtual Tour - Museum Equipment

These two photos show the operable locomotives and two cabooses which are owned by the Museum. The two Alco MRS-1 locomotives were acquired from Letterkenny Army Depot. They were in good condiion, and we have kept them serviceable. We plan to paint them, and put one in an Operation Lifesaver scheme - we have permission and the artwork already.

The blue N&W caboose was a recent addition. The EMD Model 40 was donated by Penn Power in Pittsburgh, and was restored to operable condition by our members. The red Reading caboose was also restored by our members.

Out of sight behind the last caboose are a B&O boxcar, a C&O club car and a PRR B-60 baggage car.

We inherited a Hagerstown & Frederick trolley which we have been repairing and which houses an H&F display. You can just see part of our Pullman troop sleeper car in the left background.

We plan to have virtual walk-trough sites for our equipment in future. This will allow you to see how restoration is progressing, and see some of the internal workings of the equipment.
