Mockup is made of Styrofoam sections the scale size of the actual layout sections.

The mock-up of our new layout was made using scale 4x3 ft sections. The intention was to ensure the track and switches will join without problems at the joints, especially in the corners. There will be 5 sections for each side, and three sections across each end. We were able to design the track plan to eliminate almost all curve track crossing the joints between sections. We also achieved our goal of eliminating the traditional big corner modules. Transportation of the sections should be easier since all the sections are now the same size.
