Article Twenty-One
"Government Extension To The Klondike"
Announced 19 March 1898

	The Dominion Government of Canada will be asked to make an appropriation
	at the present session of the Canadian Parliament for the approved
	extension of the Government Telegraph System into the Territory of the
	Yukon.  At the present instant, the Government telegraph circuit extends
	from Ashcroft, British Columbia to Quesnelle.  This is a distance of
	only 225 miles.  From the latter point to Telegraph Creek is only
	another 54 miles.  The proposal is to build the section now to Teslin
	Lake next season, reaching the Yukon by next Summer.  The estimated
	cost is $500,000.
