In 1984, 2 MK2 MMetrobuses were bought for the alternative vehicle trials of 1984.M1441/2 was born, M1441 had a standard Gardener Engine whereas M1442 was fitted with a Cummins unit. After life at Stcokwell they were moved to Brixton for the 133, Streatham for the 109 and 349 and finally Croydon where they were to spend the next 10 years. In 2002 M1442 was scrapped to keep M1441 in service and 1441 was transferred to Brixton however it didn't last and was sold on soon afterwards.
