In June 2018, Amtrak added a new stop, New Haven State Street Station (STS). The station has been used for Metro-North New Haven Line (weekday only) and Shore Line East. June 16, 2018, Hartford Line opened and Hartford Line trains and some Amtrak trains started service to New Haven State Street Station. Note: I personally checked Amtrak trains to/from State Street Station using Amtrak website. As of 7/4/2018, tickets for only northbound from STS or southbound to STS can be purchased. I could not purchase a ticket from STS to NYP (neither from NYP to STS). Note 2: I checked Amtrak trains to/from State Street Station using Amtrak website again. As of 1/19/2019, all tickets to/from STS can be purchased. Amtrak also shows STS station on the timetable.
