The flag stop station, Thompson Utah was eliminated in 1997.  At the same time, Desert Wind (Chicago - Las Vegas - Los Angeles) was also discontinued.  Green River Station opened instead of Thompson.  Amtrak Thompson station was located between Green River, UT and Grand Junction, CO on the California Zephyr route.
