WNYRHS 35th Annual GREATER BUFFALO TRAIN AND TOY SHOW 2016

35th Annual WNYRHS
Greater Buffalo
Train & Toy Show 2016 Review
November 19th & 20th, 2016

Fall weather in WNY can be unpredictable. Winter storm advisories kept some people away but it didn't stop over 3400 people who came to the show. The main "Events Center" and the "Expo Building" offered something for everyone in the family with over 400 tables loaded with great things to see and buy. A big THANK YOU to all those who supported the Train Show and we hope to see you in February!

Our Society table was busy all day selling magazines, maps, rolling stock and our 2017 Buffalo Railway Heritage Calendar . They answered many questions about our progress at the Heritage Discovery Center, our Depots and equipment. Most of our regular vendors were back for a chance to sell their inventory and many of our new dealers reported great returns on their tables.

We had great success with both our Williamsville Depot "Silent Auction" and our "Parlor Car Restoration Basket Raffle" for the "Francis J. McGrath" . The basket raffle raised over $1,100 and we again thank all those who contributed to this effort.

Again this year we had five great layouts provided by the "Flower City TinPlate Trackers" with their "O" scale layout from Rochester. The "Western NY Garden Railway Society" had their wonderful "G" guage layout with lot's of Thomas© to keep the little ones amused. The "Gowanda & Buffalo Model Railroad Club" continued work on the new addition to their "N" scale layout and the "Niagara Orleans Model Engineer's" entertained everyone with their great "HO" and "N" scale layouts!

Of course our old friends from the  "Empire State Passenger Association," "Niagara Frontier Chapter," of the NRHS  "Model Railroad Club of Buffalo,"  "Lower Lakes Marine Historical Society,"  and many others had tables with members to answer all your questions. The "Niagara Railway Museum," even had a 1985 CP Rail Woodings speeder on display next to their table.

In the "Expo Building" the kids enjoyed the "Kids Play Area" and "Chuckles the Balloon Clown." Members from the "Utica & Mohawk Valley Chapter of the NRHS," the "Upstate New York Train Collectors Association Kid's Club" and many other groups were all ready to show off their displays and answer questions. Below are just a few of the many tables we had for our visitors to see and shop. We hope you enjoyed yourself and that we will see you for our wonderful  "26th Annual Winter Train & Toy Show" February 18th and 19th, 2017!

Thanks again to all our dealers and friends who came to the show. And a hearty Thank You to all our Society Members who volunteered their time to help set up and take down tables, take tickets, man tables and answer questions. We couldn't have done it without all of you!
