Photos Taken While Riding The "Go-Loco" Engine Ride
The bridge from the station building to the platform features lots of padlocks. A sign on the bridge says it is dedicated to lovers! To symbolize
enduring love, it is encouraged to personalize a padlock and attach it to the bridge fencing then toss the key in the swale below!

On a bright sunny November Friday Napa Valley morning, the train is seen with FPA-4 #73 leading, shortly before departing Napa for the
lunch trip up to Saint Helena and return. I will be riding in the cab of this locomotive with the engineer & conductor for the trip north.

Having just departed Napa Station, we're about to cross over Soscol Avenue in Napa.

One siding ending and another beginning. The beige building on the left is the Napa Valley Ice Building and the bike path on the right
is the Napa Commuter Bike Path. I really need to invest in a bike now!

Now approaching Lincoln Avenue in the City of Napa.

Autumn seems to take its old sweet time here in Napa, I'm loving the warm days and the nice fall colors in the trees!!!
It was the same way a week ago in Virginia, and in Buffalo, it's probably snowing!

Now crossing Jefferson Street.

That is one very tall tree that guy in the cherry picker is working on!!! Of course, being someone who has no fear of heights,
(you know there's no roller coaster on earth that will scare me), I wouldn't be afraid to be that high off the ground!

Rounding another bend, seeing more of that beautiful fall foliage in Napa!

Now approaching California Boulevard and the California Highway 29 overpass, just beyond the crossing.

Crossing over California Highway 29 which will be our "neighbor" most of the way to Saint Helena from here!

Passing by a box car that serves as a billboard for the Wine Train. There are also cabooses along the route that do the same thing!

More beautiful fall colors near the Hawthorn Village Apartments on Solano Avenue in Napa.

Now Approaching Trower Avenue, still in Napa, with Route 29 now right next to us on the right.

Approaching Wine Country Avenue, now 73 miles from San Francisco where this line originated.

Now out of the City of Napa, and approaching vineyards (you can see part of one in the far right of this photo).

Riding past the Laird Family Estate. Being that it's mid-November, most of the grapes have been picked for the season and the vines
are now showing off their fall foliage throughout the valley.

The Trefethen Family Vineyards. Route 29 is in the foreground.

Lots of different varieties of trees along the route!

Crossing one of the many dry creeks along the route.

Again, I love palm trees!!!! These are at the Rodgers Vineyard in Napa.

That bend up ahead signals we're getting close to Yountville, the next town outside Napa.

I can't believe this is mid-November!!!
