F 2482 37 1/2 Foot Steel Bodied Guard's Van

This is a steel bodied example of the 37 /12 foot NZR guard's van. A wooden bodied van of this type is in operation on the Weka Pass Railway. The van was given to the Canterbury Railway Society by a private owner and is presently stored.

F 372 30 Foot Wooden Bodied Guard's Van

This is a wooden bodied NZR 30 foot guard's van. It was fully restored at Ferrymead some years ago and used to be run on our passenger trains with A 516. Since AF 863 was restored, 372 is now in storage but is occasionally hauled out for special trains.
