Interior view of F 624 Fell Van. This view shows the handwheels for applying the centre rail brake together with the handbrake pedestal. Two pairs of centre rail brake blocks are fitted underneath to grip the centre rail. The van was last used on the Rewanui Incline on the South Island West Coast which was fitted with the Fell rail for braking purposes only. January 2002.
