  • A digger was hired on 3rd November to tidy up parts of the site. It was also used to fill the YB wagon allowing ballast to be spread along parts of our lines. Drainage work is to be carried out at the front of the carriage shed where tracks are being relaid.
  • Some tracksets stacked in front of the carriage shed have been dismantled. A trap point is being fitted on the track into the loco shelter.
  • Pattern sorting continues with some patterns being taken out of wagons.
  • Track fittings are being sorted and tidied.
  • Signals department is tidying up their storage on site. The crossing alarm poles are being painted. Two new sheds have arrived.
  • The Diesel Traction Group has completed bodywork and roof repairs to EA 7017. This wagon was one of a number painted in murals in NZ Rail ownership, but is now mainly white. Roof repairs have also been done on VB 306. DE 1429 has been fitted with a new voltage regulator.
  • Several sleepers have been replaced near the Moorhouse starter signal. Regauging is to be carried out between there and the loop turnout.
