Two Carriages To Leave Ferrymead Soon

27/1/2001

The Ferrymead Railway has recently entered into arrangements with two organisations for use of some of our carriages.

The Croydon Aircraft Company, of Mandeville, which is the owner of steam locomotive K 92, has already transported clerestory guard's van F 199 from our site. Next week it will be joined by A 463, a second class bench seated clerestory carriage dating from the turn of the century. This carriage arrived at Ferrymead in 1976.

Carriage EA 2654 (original number unknown) is also expected to leave the site soon. It has been leased to the Papanui Station restaurant. The carriage has been used for storage and all the items in it have now been shifted elsewhere. Currently it is awaiting the connection of the new track at the front of the carriage shed.
