Crossing Keepers Hut Nears Completion

20/1/2001

The ex-Sockburn crossing keepers hut at Moorhouse, which has been under restoration since last year, is nearly completed. The hut, which will now be kept as a crossing keepers hut instead of being converted to a signalbox as earlier planned, has been restored by a local chapter of the Jaycees. Once it is finished, foundations will be constructed alongside the Moorhouse pedestrian crossing and it could be in use this Easter, when Park festival operations normally see a keeper on duty.
