The Derwent Railway Society is based in Cockermouth, Cumbria, England. It was formed in 1979 and is dedicated to the preservation of local railway artifacts and railway heritage in Cumbria.

The Society arranges a varied programme of guest speakers, special events and excursions, and is building an OO gauge model railway "Parton Hurries"

A Workington - Penrith (Derby lightweight) dmu approaches Bassenthwaite Lake Railway Station.
