Page 4 Steam

The steam power on the DV&W varies with the different Railroads using the trackage.  Currently, the DV&W doesn't have any of its own motive power, so the steam power seen is all foreign road power.

The Union Pacific runs a variety including Challenger #3985 and Big Boy #4013. I am sure there will be others in the future.

The Western Pacific runs a 4-8-2 #171, which had been temporarily leased to John Deere and sported a JD logo in place of the WP one.  It has since been returned to the WP and again has the WP logo on the tender.

There hasn't been any ATSF or SP steam power assigned to the DV&W yet, but as traffic increases, some old steam locos should be showing up to handle the increase.

The single piece of JD steam assigned to service on the DV&W is an 0-8-0 #638.  There is also a retired UP 0-4-0 #3179 that is on display at a park next to the spur station.
