REVERSE RPO AHEAD DEPOT whitewater valley
railroad
Here is 532. first built in 1954 as an EMD SD-9 and rebuilt in1975 as an SD-10. This big locomotive was a sort of Christmas present to the  Whitewater, as she arrived in December 2001.She is to be restored to her Milwaukee Road colors as requested by her donor. I'm told she rides our rails as if she were riding on glass, unlike our switchers. And that she has more than enough power to pull whatever we put behind her. This is our biggest locomotive and a welcome addition.

This is the hopper car. We use it to lay ballast. It was built in 1947 and first carried W&LE colors. Now dressed out as a Nickle Plate car, this piece of rolling stock is probably one of our most used pieces of freight equipment.

Below are two of the Whitewater wooden cabooses (cabeese?) . As I have more pictures, I will show you more of the WVRR. Come join us for an excursion or volunteer some of your time. There's lots to be done.                                                       Back Next
