What is worse than working? Working on a Sunday, perhaps? Maybe, working outside on a Sunday? How about working outside in the 90+ degree heat on a Sunday?

SEPTA's Communication & Signal Department (C&S) was indeed working today up in Lansdale, here attending to a track circuit for Station Track 2, in the shadow of the new signals yet to be cut in.

The big news today was going to be the installation of new signals for the Bethlehem Industrial Track, the Bethlehem RunningTrack and Station Track 1 (pictured here left to right).
The new signals will replace these temporary signals just south of Main Street.
The new dwarf signals are actually a pair of signals, one on top of the other. The new signals use LED technology and are set up for four colors, with lunar white an option for the future.
The new signals are "aesthetically" caged for their own protection, but not sure from what. With all the signals being moved north of Main Street, the mast signal just to the right of the watchbox will be replaced by the new mast signal in the first photo, and the caged dwarf to the right will replace the old mast on the right.
