Indiana & Ohio Ry. Photos

Along the Indiana & Ohio Central's Logan Subdivision:

  • Former Pittsburgh Industrial Railroad SW1500 no. 2342 (ex-NS no. 2342) sets shutdown outside the Oldtown yard office in Logan.  Here are the three roster shot views take:  rear, front, profile.

  • New! -- PIR SW1500 no. 2342, seen at Logan, runs light to Lancaster to grab some cars.  Photo by Nathan Robinette.

  • IORY GP9 no. 61 and GP30 no. 85 lead the eastbound mixed freight, to Logan from Columbus, across Horns Mill Road.  Both of these units have been retired, with the 61 residing at the Cincinnati deadline.  Meanwhile, the 85 has been purchased to operate passenger trains around Cincinnati, being leased to Queen City Rail Tours by one of the former IORY owners.

  • IORY GP30 no. 85 has just arrived back in Logan with the mixed freight from Columbus.  Now the accustomed task of spotting the cars in the yard begins.  Photo by Peter Maurath.

  • IORY GP40-1 no. 4036 leads the westbound L-1 across the State Route 664 crossing in Logan.  Since this photo was taken, the gates and lights have been added to the signals.  The 4036 has replaced the 85 has the Logan Subdivision road engine, while the 2342 replaced the 61 as the Lancaster switcher.

  • The 4036 leads the same train as above through Sugar Grove on its westbound trek to CSXT Parsons Yard in Columbus.

  • Thrown in just for the heck of it is this photo of two N scale models of IORY locomotives located at the Hocking Valley Model Railroad Club in Lancaster.
