A part of the changes around Union Station were also further west at Mimico East, and the leads into GO's Willowbrook Yard, and VIA's Toronto Maintenance Centre (TMC).

Beginning on Monday, 02 November 1981, Tower "B" at Mileage 8.2 Oakville Sub was demolished by a private contractor. It took three days to completely tear down and remove the once time honoured facility.

Later, on Monday, 09 November, Tower "A" located at Mileage 6.9 Oakville Sub was also demolished. It took three days to completely remove this tower.

CTC changes and automatic dual control switches were also badly needed at Willowbrook and TMC to prevent delays in and out of the two yards. On Friday, 14 June 1985, these signalling changes began. The track re-alignments, signals, and dual control switches were installed over three days at Mimico East. The pen-graphics, in order given, outline these important changes by day.
