The Story

E. Regnans Tramway

These pages show some of my model railroading activities. Most of my inspiration for these models comes from the timber extraction and sawmilling industy located in the hilly areas east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. 

The mountain chain along the south east coast of Australia has produced the tallest hardwood tree in the world; the mighty Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans). This is not to be confused with the tallest living tree in the world, the mighty Californian Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) or the worlds biggest living thing the General Sherman tree; a Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum), both from California, USA.

It is thought that the Tallest Living Tree Ever was a E. Regnans at 143m and maybe another at 150m in Australia.
