Jan. 12, 1998: Portions of the warehouse have been demolished.
This building was built in 1923 and housed the Westrn Maryland Railway Stores Department along with some Mechanical Department offices.
This is the "front" of the warehouse, where future parking and the entrance to the Museum could be.
Against the left side of the warehouse is a platform which would be excellent to use when we have our restored passenger cars or an excursion train located there; the platform would provide accessible access to the cars.
To the extreme right is the proposed entry. Parking would be in the foreground area, and the road ahead leads to the turntable and roundhouse.
The structure on the left in the photo is the north erecting shop.
Immediately behind you is the Norfolk Southern main line through Hagerstown, providing excellent railfan entertainment. On the other side of the NS tracks is beautiful City Park.
