WWSME Invitation Run 2022

Wagga Wagga Society of Model Engineers have been holding an annual invitation run at the Willans Hill Miniature Railway in the beautiful botanical gardens in Wagga Wagga since 1988.

This year is no different, the 32nd annual invitation run will be held on Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of November 2022, although the run often starts Friday morning for 3 days of fun.

Friday generally kicks off around 10:00 with unloading and the beginning of running. From Friday 10:00 until Sunday 10:00 is free running for persons over the age of 7.

The invitation run is open to all persons carrying a current AALS membership card.

Track
The railway will be set to 3 separate running lines;

The Main Line, running down hill from the station, then up hill to the trestle bridge, and across the trestle bridge, past the carriage shed, past the club house, through the tunnel and returning to the station.

The Spiral Line, running down hill from the station to the base of the spiral, proceeding around the spiral, turning from the top down to join the main line just after the trestle bridge, continuing past the carriage shed, past the club house, through the tunnel and returning to the station.

The Museum Line, running up hill from the station to the Hawkesbury bridge, through the staff point, through the tunnel under Lord Baden Powell Drive, around the museum loop, back through the tunnel, back past the staff point and heading down hill until re-joining the main line just prior to the club house, through the tunnel and returning to the station.

There is no curfew on our track so feel free to run all night if you wish, however we do ask that whistles and horns not be used between 21:00 and 08:00.

On Sunday from 10:00 until 16:00 will be our normal Sunday Public Running. For the public running, The Spiral Line is connected to The Museum Line from the top of the spiral to the staff point.
