O
About the line

In the meantime, there is quite a bit of stuff at Rob Dickinson's International Steam Page.  Rob has connections with a tour scheduled for December of 2000.  He also has some recent reports of line operation.  I will be linking to his stuff from other pages of my site.

Renato Gaudio has some pictures of Eritrean Railcars on his Italian Colonial Railcar page.

Mke Metras was at Kagnew Station from 1967 & 1968 then again in 1969 and 1970.  When he was there, he studied the Ropeway and now has a site devoted to it.

O
About things past

Jerry Pry, a Kagnew Station veteran from the late Forties and early Fifties has an excellent collection of postcards, which appear to be from the Thirties:

O
About rebuilding

There have been a number of articles written about the rebuilding.  I have collected them HERE>

Kristina Pålsson wrote her thesis about reconstructing the line. Although her Homepage is in Swedish, the thesis is in English. There are several pictures of the ongoing construction process on this page.

Patrick Horton has a picture of a locomotive under reconstruction and one showing a railway viaduct.  This is on his Eritrea page.

A.Raffaele Ciriello is a photojournalist who has covered Eritrea among other places.  His link contains pictures about the countryside and about the railway.
