Canadian Car & Foundry C-36 (HSR #90:2, 181-210:2)The HSR’s CC&F C-36s were built in two batches. #90:2 and #181-200 were built in 1946 for the HSR. #201:2-210:2 were built in 1946 for the Canada Coach Lines (CCL) as #1151-1169 (odd numbers), and were sold to the HSR in 1951. On October 18, 1954, HSR C-36 buses #182, 183, 186, 188, 197, 198, 200, 203, 204, 206, 209, & 210 were sent to Toronto under police escort to help out as emergency shuttle buses in the wake of Hurricane Hazel, where they remained until the end of the month. Several of the HSR's C-36s were in turn sold to the CCL sometime after 1960, and all remaining C-36s were retired or sold before 1972.
