The latest changes at RailWest as of 10 May 2011

The Webmaster regrets the infrequent addition of new pages to RailWest. This is due to the ongoing pressures of other activities, but the site does receive regular minor updates that do not warrant a specific mention on this page.

More pages are under construction (in addition to those updated recently), but it does take time to research and write them all, so in the meantime we are always glad to receive contributions from our visitors! Click [here] to keep up-to-date automatically with changes at RailWest.

Fotopic Gallery. As you may know, Fotopic is now defunct so sadly the RailWest gallery on Fotopic is no longer accessible. It is hoped to create a new gallery on another host in due course.

New Pages:

Evercreech Junction North - a new page in our 'Common Errors' series, correcting erroneous information about some of the signals at this Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway location.
Signalling at Midford - information about the signalling at this Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway station between Bath and Radstock.

Pages Updated:

Bere Alston - updated with information on a mystery sign!
L&SWR Single Line Sections - updates with additional information on precise dates of change
L&BR Signalling- updates to the Signal Register and the pages on Barnstaple Town and Pilton Yard.
Callington Branch - several of the pages have been updated and expanded with further information.and photographs. The signalling section has been restructured.
Salisbury to Exeter - the pages about the line since the 1967 singling have been extensively re-written, expanded to include the closed stations, and additional photographs added.

Signalling at Wellow - information about the signalling at this Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway station between Bath and Radstock.
Signalling at Glastonbury - information about the signalling at this Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway station, which was also the junction for the branch to Wells.
Longparish Branch - an 'excursion' eastwards into Hampshire for a brief history of this often-forgotten L&SWR branch line, contributed by Ian Sheldon.

Coming Soon:

Signalling at Midsomer Norton, maybe something about Barnstaple Town, hopefully more about the Bideford Westward Ho! & Appledore Railway, the West Somerset Mineral Railway, the Plymouth, Devonport & South Western Junction Railway and....who knows?
