The trip will also include visits to Chicago's Roosevelt Road for railfanning as well as Lompoc, CA's own Jalama Beach County Park for more railfanning. You'll also see Amtrak's newest paint scheme "Phase VII" on P42DC locomotives. Being that this was a trip that was taken during the summer, the longer daylight hours and higher sun angle allowed for more time and better lighting for photography along the route. This program will also feature several examples of High-Dynamic Range (HDR) Night Photography both locally and across the country. We hope to see you at the meeting! This program will feature a little something for every railfan or anyone who has ever thought about wanting to ride Amtrak so please join us for what promises to be a very entertaining and informative program on the wonderful experience of cross-country train travel! Doors open at 6:00pm, with the meeting starting at 7:00pm. The Railroad and Steel Plant Museums will be open before, during, and after the meeting. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted! Please park in the lot at the rear of the Heritage DiscoveRY Center Buffalo at 100 Lee St., and enter through the middle rear door. (Follow the ENTRANCE signs!) Wheelchair access is via the front doors on Lee St. Questions - 716-821-9360 or info@hdcbuffalo.org |
