"Rosie the Riveter Day" - Thank you so much to the Wolf Agency for sponsoring this year's Rosie Day! held at the Steel Plant Museum on March 22nd. It was a wonderful celebration of the women who kept our factories running during World War II. Thank you to Donna Kerr of the Buffalo Dolls and Becky Fasanello for their inspiring presentations! Also thank you to everyone who was able to attend especially our real-life Rosie, Angeline Corbett!

Doors were open at 11:30 AM and the program began at 12:00 PM. The Museum was open before, during, and after the presentation. Pizza, snacks and refreshments were available. Admission was free.

Public Meeting - Thursday March 20th, 2025. Our program for the evening will be presented by Society Member Geno Dailey covering a cross-country Amtrak trip he completed in July 2024. The presentation will consist of photography and commentary on a total of 4 Amtrak trains covering 3,237 route miles across 12 states. The routes covered in this trip will include the Lake Shore Limited, Southwest Chief and the Coast Starlight (2x). The trip will also include visits to Chicago's Roosevelt Road for railfanning as well as Lompoc, CA's own Jalama Beach County Park for more railfanning.

The trip will also include visits to Chicago's Roosevelt Road for railfanning as well as Lompoc, CA's own Jalama Beach County Park for more railfanning. You'll also see Amtrak's newest paint scheme "Phase VII" on P42DC locomotives. Being that this was a trip that was taken during the summer, the longer daylight hours and higher sun angle allowed for more time and better lighting for photography along the route. This program will also feature several examples of High-Dynamic Range (HDR) Night Photography both locally and across the country. We hope to see you at the meeting!

This program will feature a little something for every railfan or anyone who has ever thought about wanting to ride Amtrak so please join us for what promises to be a very entertaining and informative program on the wonderful experience of cross-country train travel!

Doors open at 6:00pm, with the meeting starting at 7:00pm. The Railroad and Steel Plant Museums will be open before, during, and after the meeting. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted!

Please park in the lot at the rear of the Heritage DiscoveRY Center Buffalo at 100 Lee St., and enter through the middle rear door. (Follow the ENTRANCE signs!) Wheelchair access is via the front doors on Lee St. Questions - 716-821-9360 or info@hdcbuffalo.org
